This week, we have a variety of hearty stews and... pizza cones. Here's what's dishing on the blogs we follow:
Thanks to Dan from Pizza Walk with Me the word is out that Pizza Cono is opening a store in Squirrel Hill! "Pizza not flat anymore..." but straight into a cone. How do you feel about that? I'm quite intrigued!
Now, let's move on to the stew menu! Since snow is slowly piling up, so are the comforting stew recipes to keep us warm during the cold winter days. Katy made a smoky and flavorful Chorizo & Lentil Stew in her BakingDomesticityandAllThingsMini kitchen and Liz from Stiller Snacks shared a sweet and spicy Chuck Noll Chili recipe.
Next, we have ribs. Jessica from How Sweet It Is put together a lip-smacking Braised Short Rib Stew while Bill from Three Dogs BBQ went for simply delicious Baby Back Ribs.
Finally, in the slow-cooker department, Linda from Dinner Plan-it whipped up a colorful Slow Cooker Italian Sausage, Chicken & Veggie Stew, whereas the Brown Eyed Baker slow-cooked amazing Balsamic-Honey Pulled Pork with Asian Slaw. And just in case you're craving something lighter, try the Sweet Corn Pico De Gallo that Chef Chuck prepared at Cooks and Eats and that goes well on tacos, chicken and fresh fish.
On the restaurant scene, Yum Yum dined at Up Modern Kitchen, while D&T: in the burgh paid visits to Cioppino, Vivo Kitchen and Butcher & The Rye during Pittsburgh Restaurant Week. The girls from eatPGH had cheesesteaks at Stack'd 2 and Kathy and Alex from Chew me! recapped their food adventures in D.C.
See you here next week!
