This week, it's all about making candy at home, seasonal squash dinners and dining out! Here's what's dishing on the blogs we follow:
With Halloween, candy was inevitably on our minds. The Brown Eyed Baker made perfectly spiced Apple Cider Caramels and sweet and salty Candy Corn and Pretzel Chocolate Bark. Katy baked more candy-cookies including these brilliant Peanut Butter Candy Blossoms in her BakingDomesticityandAllThingsMini kitchen, while Liz from Stiller Snacks whipped up candied Black and Gold Chocolate Caramel Popcorn. A fall candy spectacle that will keep you happy all season long!
On the savory spectrum, Leah from Brazen Kitchen transitioned her pantry into fall produce and slow-cooked a tasty Winter Squash Risotto, whereas Linda from Dinner Plan-it came up with delicious Corncake Chorizo Stuffed Acorn Squash to accompany a nice, juicy steak. Nothing is more seasonal than squash right now!
Finally, on the restaurant scene, Yum Yum had a substantial breakfast at Bob's Diner; D&T: in the burgh ventured to Cenacolo in Irwin; and Kathy and Alex from Chew me! relished the pizza at Pizza Sola. To top it all off, Eat Street announced that Butterjoint will host an interactive class on fall- and winter-inspired cocktails at 12:30 p.m. on Nov. 9. Don't miss it!
