The Pittsburgh Juice Company is now open

Pittsburgh Juice Co JuicePGHThe Pittsburgh Juice Company opened yesterday at 3418 Penn Ave. The shop owned by Naomi and her brother Zeb Homison has been in the works for a year.

"Because Pittsburgh doesn't yet have a dedicated juice bar [is why] we wanted to open one," said Ms. Homison. Cold-pressed, unprocessed juices are available at the shop -- they won't be distributed to yoga studios or larger markets -- though the Homisons are considering home delivery in the future.

In the meantime, customers can select from a menu that includes coconut water, green juice (spinach, apple and cucumber), super green (kale, celery, cucumber, ginger and lemon), power berry, berry watermelon, almond milk, and carrot-apple-ginger juice that cost $6 to $8.

Though the shop's juice program isn't yet priced, it can include six juices a day for three-, six- and 10-day subscriptions.
