Pittsburghers have a new place to eat, drink and party late into the night in the Strip District.

Taverna 19, a Greek restaurant at 108 19th Street, opened for business at 11 a.m. today.

The menu, which will feature local produce and grass-fed meats, will include traditional Greek and Mediterranean dishes such as stuffed grape leaves and kebabs. There also will be a selection of American dishes (burgers), vegetarian and gluten-free specialties and sushi rolls. Also look for a "20 for $20" wine list.

Along with a late-hours nightclub, there will be belly-dancing shows at 7 p.m. and 7:40 p.m. Wed.-Sat. nights.07192013tavern19food

Taverna 19 also includes a large courtyard with VIP cabanas and bottle service on the 18th Street side of the block, where brunch will be available on weekends from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.  An "inner-city hideaway," that's where you'll also find a vodka bar and four HDTVs.

It opens at 11 a.m. Wednesday through Sunday. Reservations for groups of at least eight can be made at 412-224-2720.
