Eddie Merlot's will open Downtown in April

chopThe 300-seat steakhouse Eddie Merlot's will open April 22 at Four Gateway Center, Downtown, in the space formerly occupied by Elements.

The open dining room features accents of copper, maple and cherry wood. There are also two wine rooms, three private dining rooms and a patio.

The Platinum Restaurant Group, based in Fort Wayne, Ind., started the chain in 2001 and has expanded to Cincinnati and Columbus, Ohio; Louisville, Ky.; and most recently Bloomfield Hills, Mich.

Dishes include 7- or 10-ounce prime-cut filet mignon, aged 21 days; a 14-ounce New York strip; a 22-ounce bone-in rib-eye; and a 28-ounce Wagyu tomahawk rib-eye. Potatoes in several variations, Brussels sprouts and mac-and-cheese are among the sides.

Eddie Merlot's will be open for dinner from 5 to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 5 to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday.

Lunch service will begin on Monday, April 29, with weekday service from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
