South Side restaurants for sale

Written by Melissa McCart on

Yo-RitaYo Rita on the South Side is closed.

Owner Jacqueline White oversaw several transitions in kitchen leadership -- from Kevin Sousa, who first revamped the restaurant in 2009, followed by Eric Wallace (most recently cooking at Up Modern Kitchen, with stretches at Casbah in Shadyside as well as Lidia's in the Strip District), to Adam Manculich, who took over in fall 2010.

Even with its transitions, former critic China Millman described the restaurant as "a vital part of the new Pittsburgh restaurant scene that is challenging conceptions of what Pittsburghers like, what they'll pay for and what will keep them coming back."

The space is listed for sale with a liquor license for $675K. A CBRE agent said no takers yet.

Also for sale but still open is Pittsburgh Steak Company at 1924 East Carson St. The shop will remain open until further notice and is listed at an undisclosed price. "The owners are looking for a buyer," said a manager.

Pizza Sola at 1417 E. Carson St. is for sale, though it also remains open with no definitive closing plans, said an employee. The restaurant chain had closed its East Liberty location and reopened a month ago.
