I love seeing all the out-of-towners exploring Downtown while they're here for the Frozen Four.
There has to be a food joke somewhere in that great nickname for the NCAA Division 1 men's hockey championship, which is playing out today through Saturday at Consol Energy Center.
I'm still looking to score my tickets, and fantasize about also getting the "Official ELITE VIP Pregame Hospitality Upgrade," described thusly: "This event includes upscale regional food buffets, open hosted beverage stations featuring an ice luge bar, hockey inspired activities and live entertainment!"
I'll probably settle for checking out the free fan activities outside the arena at some point.
But I also found this interesting tidbit on the Frozen Four site:
Four Downtown watering holes are adopting fans of the participating teams, and look to be especially fun places to visit while the visitors are here:
• Quinnipiac: Sharp Edge Bistro -- 922 Penn Ave. (412-338-2437)
• UMass-Lowell: Six Penn Kitchen -- 146 Sixth St. (412-566-7366)
• St. Cloud St.: Tavern 245 -- 245 Fourth Ave. (412-281-4345)
• Yale: Vallozzi's -- 220 Fifth Ave. (412-394-3400)
You don't have to skate it alone!
