Warm bodies, cold drinks

Sure, you can give your love a dozen red roses or box of chocolates on Valentine's Day.
But wouldn't you rather wine and dine him or her while channeling your inner zombie? Now that's romantic.
Capitalizing on the insatiable zombie craze that grips America, Double Wide Grilll is throwing a zombie-themed Valentine's Day Dinner and Mixer at its South Side location (2339 E. Carson St.) on Thurs., Feb. 14.
Along with scary movies on the restaurant's big screens (bring your favorite video, laptop input or DVD), "My Bloody Valentine" will feature several dinner specials in addition to its regular menu. No, it's not brains or human flesh: The $16.99 choices include Wood-Grilled BBQ Fresh Salmon served with two sides, and Prime Rib with Garlic Mashed Potatoes. For dessert, there's Bloody Red Velvet Cake.
If you'd rather celebrate the Most Romantic Day of The Year with liquid refreshments, you can enjoy bloody drink specials in the Zombie Lounge from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m.
And for those of you who like to dress up in torn clothes and have a knack for applying liquid latex and bloody makeup? There's also a Best Zombie Contest. The winner, when he/she is announced at 11 p.m., takes home $100.
For reservations or more info, call 412-390-1111.
