The brews and the bees

Tickets for another cool Pittsburgh Craft Beer Week event went on sale today:

Brews 'n' Bees in the 'Burgh.

Rivertowne BrewingButler Brew Works and Burgh Bees are collaborating on this unusual event, at which you not only can taste some beers made with honey, but also can suit up in a beekeeper's suit for a close-up look at an open hive.

Rivertowne posted on a ShowClix page the event details:

The event happens from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 21, at Burgh Bees' lot at 400 N. Lexington St. in Homewood.

For $20, you get a tour of the garden and of the open hive and the brews as well as an information session on beekeeping equipment and a chance to ask questions of the honey-bee experts. The four half-hour sessions start at 1:15, 2, 2:45 and 3:30 p.m.

All proceeds go to Burgh Bees, which works to promote bees and beekeeping and overall care for the environment.
